Biography

Following her study in medicine at the University of Gazi, Ankara, Turkey Dr. Ayten Saracoglu specialized in Anaesthesiology and Reanimation at Istanbul Marmara University School of Medicine. Following an observer fellowship at Jena University, Germany, she became an Assistant Professor at the Medical School of Istanbul Bilim University in 2012.

In 2015 she was promoted to Associate Professor at the same University. Currently she is working in Marmara University Medical School.

Ayten is European Society of Anesthesiology (ESA) Scientific Subcommittee member of Critical Emergency Medicine Trauma and Resuscitation, educator in Asian Society of Pediatric Anesthesiologists (ASPA). Ayten is a member of Membership Committee of Society for Airway Management (SAM) and member of Trauma Committee of Turkish Society of Anesthesiology and Reanimation.

Ayten’s main interest is airway management especially Videolaryngoscopes.

 

Awards in Airway Management:

1. Purshke (German-Turkish Collaboration of Anesthesiology) best poster award in Turkish Society of Anesthesiology and Reanimation Congress in Antalya, Turkey 2013: A randomized, crossover model-based study of 5 different laryngoscopes in normal airway scenario.

2. Best abstract award in 24th Congress of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Anesthesia, May 2018, Izmir, Turkey: Occlusion with endobronchial Watanabe spigot for the management of critical patients with massive hemoptisia.
